About the areaThe centre of town is a conservation area with picture-postcard cottages dotted around the old abbey.

The River Avon runs alongside the town; that and the meadow wetlands are a draw for walkers and cyclists, while the pink-tinged Anglo-Saxon abbey has a tower you can climb giving wonderful views of the countryside.
